Local 32 voted to form a Political Committee!

On January 15th, 2026 at the Biannual Membership Meeting, OPEIU Local 32 voted to establish a political committee to have a voice representing members’ interests and needs. If others cannot effectively represent us in the political arena, then we must represent ourselves. This committee will be set up this year for members who contribute to OPEIU’s JB Moss Voice of the Electorate Political fund to decide how and what we will fight for in the political arena. Our strength is in our membership, and our political power comes from our ability to mobilize towards whatever political goal members decide through their political committee.

The committee is still in the process of being set up as we sort out who at Local 32 is already paying political dues, or is interested in this committee. Once we get this information, OPEIU Local 32 staff will reach out to schedule an initial meeting where the committee will elect leadership and decide how it will operate.
